This is easy to install. I hooked it up to a 5120. powered through the head unit cable you can't get any easier than this. only problem is the sound quality sucks compared to standalone units like the xm xpress or the sirius starmate, etc. The sirius tuner SCC1 is the same--low fidelity. I know satellite isn't high fidelity audio, but the satellite receiver modules from Kenwood just don't sound good through the 5120, in my opinion. You're better off getting a Sportster, Xpress, or starmate. Better control interface with the standalone units, as well.

Works exactly as advertised. It is small and easily installed nearly anywhere. Great product.

Unit works well with my Kenwood 512, be sure to buy the XM mini tuner cnp2000.

Got this unit to go with my Kenwood DNX7120. There's not much I can say. It works quite well, the system recognized it without problem and it acts as one integrated unit. I ended up putting this unit in my glove box .... the DNX7120 + bluetooth module + steering wheel remote adaptor took up enough space that there wasn't room for this behind the dash as well. But placing this is the glove box has one good effect, I can access the XM tuner chip quite easily, and if I had a home XM device I could easily swap it around without paying for a separate subscription. This Kenwood unit seems to be designed for specific Kenwood headunits, make sure that whatever headunit you have is compatible with this item before you order it.

I bought this amp and had it paired with the JL 12w6v2. I carefully considered this sub/amp combo since it was going to be a first system that I put into my car. This combination maybe a little too much for my 4 door sedan, but it was well worth the money spent. The amp itself remains relatively cool under conditions of hard use. If your looking for one of the best amps that your money can I would go for this one. However, if you don't need a lot of bass consider something else. You could probably get a package installed for this much. I hope this helps who ever reads it.

shipped fast & came as described, works well with the kenwood 12" sub that i also bought from here, has no problem pushing one 12 sub obviously! also price was as low as i could find from anywhere else. love amazon & related retailers. I'LL BE BACK!

I've got 1 in the back of my SUV. Sealed enclosure powered by a Phoenix Gold 600x1 amp and a 1 farad Phoenix Gold capacitor. Sounds AWESOME!!! Very tight and controlled from 100hz to waaaay waaaay low. JL Audio makes the best subs. 1 of these is all you need!

This is an interesting subwoofer. When I first recieved it, I thought to myself, why are low end frequencies so weak?! At the time the sub was enclosed in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box. I later had to take the sub out of the car after an accident (luckily it wasnt damaged), and had it laying around at home. I later got my hands on a great sub-box modeling software (winISD) and started playing around with settings. Made a custom 6cu ft box with the vented port tuned at 25hz, and man is it different. This sub has become a complete beast. At 30hz I went from from 106db all the way to 120db. 40hz is now 118db compared to 110db. I am convinced JL audio now has one the best subs around. BTW this is being power by a Samson studio amp outputing 600rms (peaks at 650ish) at 2ohms. So if you already have the sub, get a bigger box guys, HUGE diffence. Sorry about the long review, just wanted to share my experience with everyone. If I had to do it all over again, I think I wouldve done the 13w7 instead, sometimes I really wanna crank it up and start dropping pictures off the wall but the sub isnt powerful enough for that :P

have a couple sealed in my '07 mazda 6 getting only 325w a piece. absolutely the most accurate bass i've ever had and this is my 6 or 7th set up. Also, if need be they get incredibly loud while sounding amazing. Highly recommend!!

This is an amazing sub that will leave your neighbors, your neighbor's neighbors and anyone within listening distance in traffic wondering where the explosion is. It will simply jump out of it's box and slap people in the head with ground pounding bass. Quality manufactured and built to bring that high quality thump to your trunk, the W6 is a subwoofer is designed to operate perfectly at 500 watts and will simply melt your ears off at 1000 watts! I'm a music lover, and i'm always upgrading my sustem in the house and my car, and I have not seen such a powerful subwoofer like the JL 12w6v. It shakes evrything in your car. I have it conneted to a jl amp 250w, and I tell you what! you don't need more than that for a car. Over all it's super good. Rn. From NYC
