I installed this little sub in the hatch of my 2008 VW GTI. It takes up very little space and it sounds great! It's connected with my factory navi, and the bass is enough to rock the whole car. Love it.

The key to appreciating this product is to have realistic expectations. It will NOT rattle the windows of nearby houses. It will NOT notify everyone within 200 feet that you're listening to bumpin' tunes. It will NOT give your sound system "street cred" or whatever. (Do people still even use the phrase "street cred"? Eh -- I'm too old to care any more.) What it WILL do is deliver the clean, strong, deep bass that your factory speakers won't. To be honest, I was pretty satisfied with the sound delivered by the factory Bose system in my car, at least at low speeds. The problem is I have an aftermarket exhaust that gets a little loud at high speeds, and when I turned up the stereo to try to overcome the exhaust, the speakers would start working a little too hard and the low frequencies would get too muddy. That's where the Basslink steps in. By using the frequency filters on my head unit (both high-pass and low-pass) to cut out the lows from the factory speakers and send it all to the Basslink, I can now crank the stereo without overdriving the factory speakers; meanwhile the Basslink jacks out thumpin' bass without breaking a sweat at volumes that would cause the factory speakers to strain. Net result: much better and more filled-out sound at volumes high enough to overcome my annoyingly loud exhaust than I was able to achieve with the factory speakers alone. And the best part is that it takes up less room in my trunk than two bottles of antifreeze. It's mounted upright and tucked away in a corner, barely even noticeable, and I still have about 95% of my trunk space. Plus there's no amp taking up extra space either -- the Basslink a complete unit, amp built in. So if you need something to wake your neighbors up in the middle of the night thinking their roof is about to cave in, the Basslink won't work for you. But if you just want something that can punch out the low frequencies with extra authority to "fill out" your factory system, you will not be disappointed with this space-saving little bruiser.

This thing was perfect in my Jeep. Sounds AWESOME while it worked. Had it in the Jeep for over a year, and like so many others, the amp blew. This makes the thing useless. You have to get the amp replaced (~$90 at a certified repair place) or bypass the internal amp with a different amp. Like I said sounded great when it worked. I have a Wrangler, so no trunk to penetrate, therefore I barely had it turned up ever. It was always set real low, and had a ton of bass. For a throw away component, it is way overpriced.

This amplified subwoofer is is space saving & yet good bass for my Subaru Legacy Spec.B 2008. Highly recommended! Adjustable knob is helpful for those who want less/more bass for certain songs.

This SW is more than fine. Easy to install, sounds great, terrific value... I have no regrets about this unit, and if I have to buy another, this is the first one that I'll seek out. Bass is great, all the boom-boom I could ask for. Mounted in the trunk of a 06 Accord EX.

I OWN A 2005 FORD RANGER EXTENDED CAB AND NEEDED A REAL SUB BUT DIDN'T WANT TO EAT UP ALOT OF SPACE AS THERE IS NOT MUCH SPACE IN ONE OF THESE VEHICLES TO BEGIN WITH. I ALSO WANTED SOMETHING EASY TO INSTALL AND ALSO WANTED SOMETHING THAT WAS EASY TO CONCEAL. THIS SUB HAS COMPLETLY SATISFIED ME IN EVERY WAY. THE BASS FROM THIS UNIT IS CLEAN AND MUSICAL. I HAD READ IN ANOTHER REVIEW THAT YOU SHOULD CRANK DOWN THE BASS ON YOUR FULL RANGE SPEAKERS AND LET THE BASSLINK HANDLE MOST OF THE LOWER END AND I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE JULY AND HAVE TRIED OVER 4 SETS OF DIFFERENT BRANDS OF AFTERMARKET SPEAKERS TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING I COULD LIVE WITH AND NOTHING SOUNDED RIGHT UNTIL I ADDED THE BASSLINK. I NOW LOOK FOREWARD TO DRIVING MY RANGER BECAUSE OF A DECENT SOUNDING AUDIO SYSTEM. I BOUGHT MY BASSLINK THROUGH AMAZON AND ONLY HAD $212.00 IN IT INCLUDING SHIPPING. BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT. IF YOU ARE AFTER QUALITY SOUND AND NEED A SUB TO ADD THAT LOWER END YOUR MISSING, " BUY IT." IF YOU WANT TO RATTLE YOUR NEIGHBOR, BUY SOMETHING ELSE.

I had the basslink x installed less than a week ago and I've got to tell you, it's awesome. It beats my expectations. I didn't expect that much bass from this unit. PERFECT for the average music listener. If you want to thump with some rap then don't go this route. If you want to add a lot of bass to your car without ripping it apart this is the way to go. The unit is small, and looks cool in my trunk. The bass is tight too. There is a solid punch, not the rumble of the bazookas. I am not dissapointed in the least. With 200 watts of power, there is more than enough bass for the non-rap music listener.
